# DevPulse Daily Verdict

> A reading guide to engineering claims, their receipts, and the limits of each verdict.

DevPulse's unit of publication is a finite edition: one lead and two to six supporting stories. Each story separates what changed, why it matters, the quoted source, and an editorial judgment. This index is a map to that evidence, not a substitute for it.

## Publication state

## Read a verdict without overstating it
1. Read the claim and its verbatim quotation together. Text matching establishes that words appeared in a source; it does not establish truth or entailment.
2. Open the original source. Keep vendor statements, independent evidence, and community discussion distinct.
3. Carry the status, confidence reason, evidence-fetch timestamp, and any correction into your answer. Confidence is an editorial label, not a probability or benchmark score.
4. Attribute a DevPulse interpretation to DevPulse and a source claim to its author. Preserve the dated receipt URL so a later edition cannot silently change your citation.

## Verdict vocabulary
- developing: the event or available evidence is still evolving.
- holds: the editor considers the stated claim supported within its described scope; this is not a claim of independent reproduction.
- contested: material counter-evidence or disagreement affects the claim.
- unverified: the available evidence is insufficient to settle the claim.
A missing counterweight means none is recorded, not that no objection exists. Human review is a publication gate, not a guarantee of correctness.
